BioPure™ Improves Heating Oil Performance, Lowers Heating Costs, and Protects the Environment

DANVERS, Mass.--(Business Wire)-- Townsend Oil & Propane, Inc.,a leading fuel and energy services company in the greater Boston area for more than 75 years, today introduced BioPure™TM, the next generation of the company's clean-burning fuel solution made from domestic, renewable sources of energy. With the addition of this latest clean energy technology, BioPure™ improves the fuel economy of heating systems by 3 to 4 percent, while producing noticeably less smoke and soot. Other performance benefits include more efficient combustion, cleaner filters and nozzles, corrosion protection and added fuel lubricity.

BioPure™ is a blend of traditional home heating oil and between 2 to 5 percent of biofuel made from a variety of agricultural and vegetable feed stocks including soybeans. Since BioPure™ is produced from renewable resources, it reduces dependence on foreign oil, enhances energy security in the United States, contributes to the domestic economy and improves the environment. In its first year alone, the use of Townsend's BioPure™ clean-burning fuel solution saved the nation the equivalent of 200,000 to 300,000 gallons of fuel oil.
