BioPure™, The Next Generation of Heating Oil
Townsend is proud to deliver BioPure™ Heating Oil to all our Oilheat customers. Available only from Townsend, this cutting-edge fuel incorporates biofuel made from renewable sources such as plants and used cooking oil.
It burns cleaner than traditional heating oil, for better results both inside and outside the home. Inside, BioPure™ improves heating efficiency because there is less residue to collect on the heat exchanger. Outside, emissions are cleaner and air pollution is reduced.
We recommend automatic delivery for BioPure™ customers. Customers on automatic delivery can rest assured of uninterrupted warmth. As an automatic delivery customer, you won't need to worry about checking your oil tank or running low on fuel, especially during those cold winter months. Townsend monitors your home's heat use with its state-of-the-art computer system and "degree day" equation, along with weather conditions, and automatically schedules when you should receive your oil delivery. Automatic delivery is not only convenient, but you will benefit from peace-of-mind comfort all season long, for Townsend Oil & Propane will deliver when fuel when you need it!

Schedule a BioPure™ Heating Oil Delivery
Townsend Oil & Propane makes it easy to schedule a BioPure™ delivery. We recommend our
Automatic Delivery service, which allows you to stop calling for fuel deliveries and let Townsend deliver automatically whenever your supply is running low. We calculate your fuel consumption rate based on past usage and adjust the delivery schedule as needed based on variations in the weather.

Boilers

Hot Water Heaters
Oilheat's ability to produce a reliable, inexpensive supply of domestic hot water is one of its strongest features.

Aboveground Tank Replacement
As mentioned above, you can replace an underground tank with an aboveground tank. This type of tank can be placed in your basement or crawl space inside your home or it can be placed outside your home. We offer attractive outdoor tank enclosures to match your home's siding. Tank Lines
When it comes to tank lines, it pays for the homeowner to be proactive. If your home is more than 10 years old, it may be time to have the fuel lines checked. Lines under the floor are usually made from copper, steel, brass or iron, and therefore when they come into contact with soil, concrete or water, there is a possibility they will corrode and release small amounts of oil. A delivery line break can also occur when there is a shifting in a home's foundation, basement floor, or the soil surrounding it.
Older delivery lines that are not visible or encased can result in releases being undetected for many years. A delivery line release may lower the value of your property.
In Massachusetts, it is required that all new delivery lines installed be encased in protective sleeves or have an oil safety valve. These nonmetallic protective sleeves encase and protect delivery lines against damage and corrosion.
In the case of an older home, the delivery line will probably not have a protective sleeve. By installing new delivery lines or having the old ones encased, the homeowner will be spared the cost of cleanup if a release should occur.

Your Townsend service technician has the know-how to inspect your lines on a regular basis and, if replacement lines are needed, install new, double-walled lines and an Oil Safety Valve (OSV) with very little interruption to your existing system.
