Rory Muhm, Gloucester
A customer since 1993, Rory Muhm has always appreciated Townsend for its full service - automatic oil delivery and boiler maintenance and repair - and he's always known the company to be on top of things: "When we need them, they come 'chop- chop!'" he says.
A recent incident, however, gives Mr. Muhm reason to appreciate Townsend even more. Mr. Muhm noticed a strong oil smell in his basement and knew something unusual was going on. He looked under his tank and saw an oil
puddle - "about half a teacup," he says. Investigating further, he found droplets forming under the tank. To further complicate things, the tank had just been filled. "We're talking about nearly 300 gallons of oil slowly leaking," he says.
He made an emergency call to Townsend, and a team of three technicians arrived within a half an hour. It seemed the tank had been perforated at the bottom as a result of water damage. Within 6-1/2 hours (from 3:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), the old tank had been pumped out and dismantled, and a new tank had been installed and filled. The tank replacement alone was completed in just one hour.
"It was astonishing how quickly, neatly and professionally they did the job," marvels Mr. Muhm. "I'm very proud to be a Townsend customer. I have nothing but praise for them."

Mr. Townsend,
Words cannot express my appreciation and gratitude in how your company and staff recently handled my oil tank concerns. I have always been pleased by your courteous and informed technicians, whether it was to clean the burner or address other issues of concern. This past weekend has given me complete affirmation that there is no other oil company to do business with. Your response time to my initial phone call was impressive and the attentiveness
that you, Brian and Larry provided to me at a most anxious moment was sincere, heartfelt and genuine. Thank-you for providing my family not only excellent customer service, but also the security of knowing that everything that needed to be addressed to resolve my concerns were handled in a manner by which all companies should aspire to. Please extend my thanks' to Chris, Phil, Rob, Barry, Miguel, John, Brian, and especially Larry, who took the time to keep my calm and coordinate everything that needed to be done and kept everything in its proper perspective.

To Whom It May Concern:
In my capacity as Program Monitor for utilities-funded heating systems replacement for Action, Inc., I had the occasion, yesterday, to inspect three heating plants retrofitted by your staff via North Shore Community Action Program in Peabody. Suffice it to say, the quality of work completed by your installation department is impressive and sets the standard for which your "competition" doesn't even come close.
In this area of shoddy workmanship and lack of pride in work performed, it is clearly evident that yours' is a company that approaches work with the adage of "no substitue for quality" and "anything worth doing is worth doing right". It is refreshing AND reassuring to see the attention to detail and provision for ease of future system service and maintenance that your installation department provides.

I just wanted to write to thank you, and your technicians, for your efforts on behalf of me and my family. After a recent frustrating cancellation of an appointment for a furnace tune-up, as referenced in my letter dated April 17, I was pleasantly and gratefully given top-notch service and attention both on the rescheduled tune-up and the follow-up visit when the furnace burner was misfiring after the tune-up.
In both visits, your technicians were helpful, courteous, and willing to explain various tasks
they completed. So, thank you for following up with me on the cancellation and for taking care of my family's needs. Your effort and concern is appreciated and noted every time our furnace kicks on and warms my children.
